THE EUROPEAN MASTER IN OFFICIAL STATISTICS
8th EMOS Workshop
On Tuesday, 20 September 2022, the EMOS network will meet to discuss current developments and ideas for the future related to teaching official statistics. While last year's workshop could only take place online due to the pandemic, this year the workshop will be a hybrid event held in-person and virtually. The event will take place in Pisa at the Centro Congressi ‘Le Benedettine’. The livestream will be available on the EMOS YouTube channel. The event is hosted by Eurostat in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Pisa and is addressed to all interested statistics students, educators and professionals.
The 8th EMOS Workshop is an open and free event held in-person and virtually that welcomes all interested students, lecturers, researchers and professionals interested in official statistics. Register here.

Event location
The Workshop will take place at the the University of Pisa “Le Benedettine” Conference Center (Centro Congressi "Le Benedettine"), Piazza S. Paolo a Ripa D'Arno, 16, 56125 Pisa (PI), Italy.
The Conference Center is located in the old town in a former Benedictine monastery bulding on Lungarno Sonnino. It is located in the same bulding of the Residence le Benedettine, the new guesthouse of the University of Pisa, where we have reserved a limited number of rooms.
It has an internal garden and includes three rooms located at ground floor. The Auditorium has a capacity of 95 seats and it is located in the church of the ancient convent. The other two rooms (B and C) have a capacity of 77 and 40 seats, respectively.
How to reach the venue
From Pisa Centrale railway station
From Pisa Centrale railway station the workshop venue can be reached in about 10 minutes walk or by bus. Take line LAM VERDE (direction Park Paparelli) at the stop Stazione 6 and get off at the stop Crispi 2. Head north on Via Francesco Crispi toward Via S. Paolo and then turn left onto Via S. Paolo, walk about 200 mt and the venue will be on the right. You can check the transportation company web page for directions and timetables.
From Pisa International Airport "Galileo Galilei"
The international airport of Pisa is about 1 km from the city center and 2 km from the Conference Center. The easiest way to reach the conference location is to take the automatic Pisamover shuttle (at less than 40 metres from the Passenger Terminal) for the Pisa Centrale railway station. The service is available every day from 6:00 AM to 00:00 AM at 5/8 minute intervals.

Social dinner
The social dinner will take place at the Grand Hotel Duomo on Tuesday 20 September 2022 at 19:30.
The Grand Hotel Duomo is located in the city centre about 1 km away from the conference venue and it can be reached in about 10 minutes walk
