Karin Blix

In this EMOS webinar, Karin Blix talked about the use of administrative data sources in the Danish statistical system, exploring new data sources more broadly, and methods applied to ensure quality in official statistics in the new data eco-system. The webinar aimed to give an insight into how official statistics can be produced using administrative data and other sources in traditional and new ways and how we work with quality.

Webinar content:

  • How the Danish statistical system relies on administrative sources

  • How this is also a base for exploring new data sources

  • What is done to ensure quality in official statistics in the new data eco-system.

Karin Blix (MSc in Economics) worked in Statistics Denmark for more than 25 years - the last eight as the quality coordinator for Statistics Denmark. Before this, she worked as a researcher for about five years. Her experience is quite broad since she has worked in many statistical domains using quite different data sources to produce statistics, and has been a user of statistics from the "outside".
