The European Master in Official Statistics (EMOS) is a network of Master programmes providing post-graduate education in the area of official statistics at the European level. EMOS is a joint project of universities and data producers in Europe. After four calls for applications, the EMOS network comprises 34 programmes in 18 countries and collaborating partners in statistical offices.
The EMOS Master programmes are based on learning outcomes which allow graduates to familiarize with the system of official statistics, production models, statistical methods and dissemination.
EMOS labelled Master programmes also collaborate actively with the National Statistical Institutes or other producers of official statistics for relevant master thesis topics and internships in the sphere of official statistics.
In 2019, Eurostat awarded a contract to the University of Pisa for the organisation of the EMOS Workshop and EMOS Board Meeting in 2022 along with the EMOS Webinar series, which is organised in collaboration with STAT-UP.
